Season 3

Season 3

Chris Carter has been on record with acknowledging Season Three as his favorite season within the series' history. It is the most eclectic season with a balanced mix between dramas, and satires, stand alone, and mythology episodes, between monsters, UFOs, and other unexplained subjects, as well as the continued unmistakable chemistry between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. The majority of Darin Morgan's work can be found here. As well as strong episodes written by Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz, Howard Gordon, Vince Gilligan, and John Shiban, the quality of the episodes continued to remain unusually high. The season also featured some exceptional performances from guest stars John Neville, Peter Boyle, and Charles Nelson Reilly. The role of directors such as Kim Manners and Rob Bowman was becoming more predominate and significant during this period. The season enjoyed a nearly countless ratio of peaks, as the series continued to grow from strength to strength.
