Last year, we were incredibly remiss in posting our traditional New Years Eve thank you's and we didn't want to miss it again.

We had another round of challenges this year, and my personal time on the site was strained with limited time, but we also had some new faces, and new supporters that have been of great help.

Starting with XScribe and Jill who have remained consistent and steady with their support and assistance, it hasn't been easy at times. Out thanks extends to all of the other great people, as follows...

Several of the key new faces must be acknowledged. Frank Zero and Trevor Tocco, both of whom submitted several great reviews to the site, in the case of Frank Zero, he has agreed to come on board as a co-manager for the Lexicon! It's a gradual process, but you can expect to see him on a regular basis as 2013 progresses.

Every year, there are always several sites who always surface where it's members become great friends and supporters, where I've been involved with them for a long spell, members of Christopher Knowles Secret Sun Blog have paid attention, or gotten involved with the site or the blog. Special thanks must go to Raj Sisodia, Liz Durkin and Sean Gatchell for their help and attention.

We still have friends at the TIWWA / Millennium fan site who have been of great help. I must thank Erin McRaven for going above and beyond the call and delivering a great episode guide review for the site, in spite of some overwhelming personal challenges she has handled with grace under pressure.

Special thanks must go to our old ally David Morris for contributing some great work, I am all too aware that many fans drift away, and life pulls them in different directions - it's to be expected - so I do appreciate that after six years David is still involved.

Last year, we were remiss in acknowledging the great support from the team of The X-Files Truth podcast, Agent Shadow, Agent Chelsea, and Agent Summer in allowing me to participate with their podcast interview of William B. Davis, it was great prep for our own interview.

Sarah Blinco had been tirelessly working behind the scenes to promote the Lexicon and get more writers to pay attention to the site. The Italian team behind The X-Files Bluebook on-line magazine were great with working with Sarah and delivering a great write about the site and its history.

I must thank Explodey from the Explodeyfiles podcast for inviting me to be involved, it just hasn't happened yet.

I must personally thank Jana Fain for her support and friendship.

A thank you must go towards Alison Groves from the Big Light Social Network for her continued friendship and support.

Again, in spite of Gabe Rotter's incredible work as Director of Development at Ten-Thirteen Productions, I also continue to appreciate his support through the years.

We continue to have a great friend with Maurisa from The X-Files Universe, and I must thank her for her enthusiasm for The Syndicate.

Joe McBrayer has remained a steady friend for the Lexicon, and has continued to deliver some great work as well as enthusiasm, thank you.

Once again, thanks must go to a pair of people who have been helpful to the site's history, Mark Hayden, who remains sorely missed, and Kimon from Eat The Corn, for his support and friendship.

I also must thank Raskolnikov for her continued support.

Lastly I must thank Chris Knowles, for his continued support and friendship and a continued influence due to his incredible work at The Secret Sun blog.

There remains a list of many others presently, and in the past, involved with the site that I thank, to all of the people who have joined the Lexicon forum, or our Facebook group page, or Twitter feed, Thank you. All of your have helped the site to grow and it's appreciated.

My apologies for the brevity of this list, the past two years have been personally trying and it has been a challenge to not fall short of people's expectations and patience, but we are still here.

Thank you!

Hunted

Hunted, a show by X-Files' Frank Spotnitz, and the team responsible for the MI5 show, is in it's second season at the BBC. The show is about privately contracted spies, in a world with no one to trust. The lead character,Sam Hunter was taken out by the very people she works for, the Byzantium organization. She then comes back from the dead, so to speak, and tries to track down her killer's while posing as a civilian nanny. This will either result in her exacting certain revenge or maybe,...just her day job back. She doesn't even know if she can begin to trust the man she loves.
Matt here: There has been a huge gap here with posting updates since Oct 2011, I apologize for that. The update page tends to get neglected, it has in the past, but with the advent of Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Digg, The Big Light Productions Forum, and so on... The exclusives tend to get promoted on those pages.

I also feel guilt over a tradition that was broken in 2011. The New Years Appreciation Roll Call, We plan to resume it in 2012. But this year we have been doing a lot of restructuring, and prioritizing to get back to the fundamentals of the site, while moving forward with exciting features.

We have been proud of our interviews with Alex Gansa, and William B. Davis, which have been a great success, and we have recruited some great new faces this year. Erin McRaven, Frank Zero, and Trevor Tocco whom are contributing reviews to our season two episode guide.

Erin wrote up a great review for Fresh Bones and Philiater created some great fan art for it, and Frank contributed a great review for End Game. Trevor's work is impending, and at least one other person has an episode guide review impending. We also have new updates in the Character Dossiers that reflect the new ep guide reviews. We have been redirecting our attention to the Lexicon Forum, have been cleaning up some spamming problems, but we are indeed in need of some new moderators to help police it.

The staff of The X-Files Lexicon is also really pleased to throw our support behind a small French documentary team that is working on a documentary about X-Files fandom, headed by Roxane and Tom, you can find information about it from here, and their Facebook page.

In July, our friends at X-Files Universe held their annual fan fiction contest, you should check out the results.

We have a lot more exciting developments on the way, and we will try to keep this section current from this point on-ward.

Matt here: This update has a round of major News developments. The most significant being Chris Carter who has a new series he is pitching to various studios.

"Unique" has been described as a female lead supernatural police thriller, where Chris Carter will be executive producing, writing, as well as directing, along with Media Rights Capital. The company hopes to go straight to series on the project. Chris Carter has previously commented: "I won't do a domesticated show, We did little movies with The X-Files each week, and I really want to do a show that has that scope. The X-Files had a large canvas, and I don't want to limit my canvas by doing something that is a typical, traditional franchise show, and if you look at the show's I've done - The X-Files, Millennium, Harsh Realm, and even The Lone Gunmen - they we're big canvas shows. They were scopey, and that's what I want to continue to do."

The Lexicon will be following these developments with interest, and will fully support this project. On a side note, the Deadline Hollywood piece inferred that the project "Fencewalker" is listed as 'upcoming'.

Erica Fraga's ACS auctions, which was developed as a fundrasing off-shoot of her book, LAX-Files, is now into it's second phase. Some of the items include autographed copies of The X-Files, and Breaking Bad TV scripts. X-Files crew clothing and set props, Autographed X-Files Magazines, Calendars, Collectable cards, an autographed copy of the Mark Snow Box set, as well as other items from The Walking Dead, Castle, and Army Wives.

Our friends at IBG have informed us that The DVD of the Conversation with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny has been released, details below.

IBG Inc's "Conversation with Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny" DVD release on October 18th 2011

In case you missed out on attending IBG, Inc's one of a kind "Conversation with Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny (with special guest Chris Carter), the Los Angeles area non-profit now has the DVDs for sale!

The special one and a half hour un-moderated, completely candid event takes fans behind-the-scenes with the friends and former 'The X-Files' co-stars as they reminisce, remember, and even speculate on working together in the future. What exactly would a third movie look like, for example? Or would Anderson ever consider popping over to 'Calfornication?' These are just a few of the topics they take on in this very special event.

The "Conversation with Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny" took place on July 30th 2011 in front of a limited audience at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills CA. Ticket sales from the charity event benefitted SA-YES, a South African charity founded in 2008 to provide much needed support for marginalized children and young people of that region. The DVD sales will also benefit SA-YES and can be purchased on IBG's website at http://www.ibginc.org.
The program is at a critical point, and we're thrilled to be able to support their efforts with this unique event. The Lexicon is proud to present our exclusive report on the LAX-Files book signing event. Video of the event is forth coming to coincide with the launch of our new feature, Lexicon TV.

Beginning in July, LAX-Files has organized a series of American Cancer Society Auctions, with various items to be placed on E-Bay. Autographed items include contributions from the cast and crew of The X-Files, Breaking Bad, Castle, The Walking Dead, Army Wives, Mad Men, and Bob Goodwin's Alien Trespass, details can be found here.

The fine folks from Serenity of X asked us to mention their June 2011 FRR & DSR Awareness Month, which for anyone unfamiliar, are shipper discussions about Dogget/Scully & Follmer/Reyes pairings.

A joint vision from key X-Files fansites has resulted in the launch of "The Syndicate," a networking page for all sites related to TenThirteen Productions. X-FilesLexicon, EatTheCorn and XFilesUniverse are the founding members of "The Syndicate" to help build, support and strengthen the fanbase of "The X-Files," "MillenniuM," and all TenThirteen-related projects. "The Syndicate" is a landing page that will allow anyone easy access to multiple websites.

This initiative is an interactive and proactive webring or platform targeting to create more cohesion among all efforts, on-line and off-line, that honor the work produced by TenThirteen Productions.

As explained by webmaster Matt Allair of X-FilesLexicon: "To the fans, I view 'The Syndicate' as one-stop shopping. If fans like what they see, bookmark it, keep visiting the Syndicate, and write to the webmasters of your favorite sites and encourage them to register... The fans will determine its success."

"It's been nearly 18 years," further elaborates Kimon of EatTheCorn, "that The X-Files started broadcast and in that time fandom has grown, fragmented, and grown again many times over. It is time to think long-term and federate fandom presence in a spirit of cooperation. The Syndicate plans to accompany this next evolution."

"The thing I find most exciting about 'The Syndicate,'" says Maurisa of XFilesUniverse, "is the opportunity for all of our sites to work together to promote TenThirteen Productions. There are so many sites, and we all have our own strengths and our own promotions. But with 'The Syndicate,' our sites can endorse each other and raise awareness across the fanbase. After all, we all want to see growth in the fandom."

Membership in "The Syndicate" provides promotion for each website, complete with RSS feeds and links for each member site. In addition, special events for each site will be featured prominently. A forum for Syndicate members is provided to help member sites' staff better communicate with each other and enable greater capability to work together to promote TenThirteen Productions projects, such as a third X-Files feature film or a new Frank Black movie.

Read our full Mission Statement that explains our vision and purpose!
Visit our Membership page to add your site to The Syndicate!

The Syndicate Members:

Matt here: Again, we have been belated with the updates, my apologies for that. With the advent of Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and countless outlets, it becomes difficult to remember to post here.

A lot of been published, and there has been a lot of news. To catch up, we are proud to present two great interviews in short order. Our exclusive interview with Howard Gordon, writer, producer, and now author, concerning the publication of his first book; Gideon's War, where he chats about his process, and his appearance at the Paley Festival panel from 2008.

Erica Fraga has finally published her book: LAX-Files: Behind the Scenes with the Los Angeles Cast and Crew, and we have an exclusive interview with her, where she talks about the creation of the book.

It is astonishing what Erica has managed to accomplish, and the book has been a real pleasure to read. I also must thank her generosity in mentioning the Lexicon in her book, the more word get's out about the site, and the hard work that is done, the more it's appreciated.

While it's long overdue, we finally published our episode guide review for season one's The Erlenmeyer Flask, which means we've reached another small milestone, everything is completed for season one, with the exception of future additional updates of production information, as well as layout refinements.

It's been an interesting week. I was approached about three weeks ago by a staffer of a really wonderful X-Files podcast, to have the Lexicon profiled, and to conduct an interview about the Lexicon's history, some X-Files chat, and a bit of my personal history. The interview happened just the other day, and I will keep you posted when that develops.

http://xfilestruth.wordpress.com/

As always, thank you for visiting the Lexicon, and keep checking in.

Once again, there's a lot of people who work behind the scenes, faces that come and go, as well as new friends, and each of them have somehow helped to shape what the Lexicon has become.

XScribe continues to be an incredible help, and ally, I continue to owe her a debt for sticking with this venture even if it's been a challenging year in some respects.

I put forth a set of challenges to Jill this year, and she continued to go above and beyond, with a good amount of grace and cheer.

I must thank Angie C, for writing some incredible material over the past year, in spite of some trying moments in her life.

Mimic also delivered above and beyond, with several wonderful pieces, and I am in her debt for shaping the Case Analysis section.

I must thank Alexander for his incredible critical reviews for the Case Analysis section, once again his work has helped to point a way for future critical work.

I must thank Robert Shearman for his incredible generosity and availability at the beginning of the year. I also appreciate his personal support in the second half of this year.

We made a new friend this year with Maurisa from The X-Files Universe, and I must thank her for her enthusiasm over something impending.

Joe McBrayer has remained a steady friend to the Lexicon, and has continued to deliver some great work as well as enthusiasm. Thank you.

Once again, thanks must go to a pair of people who has been helping with a very special and important project that is finally about the see the light of day. Mark Hayden has remained an incredible friend to the Lexicon, as well as helping to open a door to a person who could be of great importance in the future. Lastly, Kimon from Eat The Corn was one of the earliest people to become involved with the above project, and his support, as well as friendship remains in high regard.

I also must thank Dietrich Johnson for his continued cooperation.

I also must thank Raskolnikov, from whom we showed great support while she was busy finishing up her own fan book, she has increasingly shown herself to be quite invaluable, and she's in my debt.

I must thank Chris Knowles, for his continued support, and friendship, as well as being a growing influence due to his incredible site, The Secret Sun.

Shivani Saran has been an incredible help at the Lexicon's Facebook group page, and I continue to look forward to her help in the future.

Philliater has really come through during a trying period, and it will not be forgotten anytime soon.

To Karen, Viridian, MullySculder, Polly, Invisigoth, Bellefleur, as well as Sarah, Erin, Terry, Tere, and Helene, thank you for your wonderful artwork that continues to grace the site.

I'd like to thank Nicky and Aliatope1013 for their continued assistance with the Lexicon Forum.

I must thank Red Scully, David Morris, and Robin England for their continued support.

Mike Marek from The X-Files Timeline, is another that I must thank for his great understanding, patience, and support, it was more than I expected.

I should also thank for the continued and patient cooperation of Dan from Popcorn Monster, Aly from Ask Dr. Scully, Ghostfreak from the X-Files Forum.net.
